How do you know when a text is beyond your level? It's easy to be intimidated, but that doesn't always mean it's necessarily too difficult or incomprehensible, right? I have a game I've been trying to play, but I'm struggling to remember the vocabulary in the introduction scene effectively. I've learned well by mining words for Anki from books in the past, and have a deck with only maybe 200 cards. My retention rate turned out to be great in real-world application, but I was so slow with Anki and spending the time to solidify my vocabulary that it became a very long endeavor to take on every day.

I've been trying to just read, look up vocabulary I don't know and move on to reduce workload. However, it seems to be questionable with regards to effectiveness. Every time, it's a struggle between effective study and actually having fun. I'm so disappointed with myself. What should I do?
