len'en project is NOT a touhou ripoff. it's a loveletter to ZUN, if anything. it's not to satisfy an unsatisfaction with touhou, it's an immersion into japanese interpretaiton of touhou. it's entirely what you make it, just the same as touhou in this regard - but most of the time the interpretation will be skin deep in depth like >>44344161 because none of the characters have established genders. it is arguable that len'en predicted, or even directly inspired touhou after the fact. can we really say that touhou would be the same without len'en project's existance? i say no. in some retrospects, Jinx was further ahead than ZUN. JinX made sukune before ZUN made mayumi, still i think sukune is a better character - i feel as if the entirety of len'en's cast fits in the touhou universe, but i think it's better to emphasize that len'en is a touhou project in another universe, that despite the differences they are fundamentally the same and interconnected at the core.
also, i cannot shake the feeling that sese is the direct inspiration for sans from undertale. we know toby fox was a big fan of touhou, but not if he was a fan of len'en project. given zanmu's danmaku (and the fact that touhou was put on steam in the first place only because toby fox met ZUN in person and convinced him to do so), we can say toby fox inspired touhou, too. so, if it turns out that len'en project inspired toby fox, len'en has directly and indirectly inspired touhou in multiple ways.
