mm-hhmm, they're the worst "alternative" subculture out there, even punks know how to have fun and like listen to Ska and even goths have the cyberpunk/rivethead thing going.

It's nothing but grim and kvlt serious business-only, and the only "fun" bands usually have some sort of extreme gimmick to them like "pirate metal" or some shit otherwise they're not considered "real" metal, ironically enough. Everyone is trying out-metal each other and all that bands can do is try to be faster and louder and heavier than the next band.

I spent the better part of a decade listening to nothing but 12 different flavors of metal, it just made me depressed and full of angst, I dropped metal completely out of my life for a few years and Babymetal absolutely breathed new life into the genre
