These are reasons they should have been on the JP server in the fucking first place, they have pain in the ass resources mostly figured out. Peko's iron farm makes fucking stacks of it daily etc. Apparently, they may have actually had the option, but it was explained recently in Ina's zatsudan that they felt that because they didn't have much experience and wanted to get familiar with the game together they went with their own server. If they're burning out toiling away in the stone age on the EN server and just want to build cool shit they reallllly ought to consider using the JP server for that.

Fucking Haachama plays just fine on it from Australia, in fact has built the most intricate stuff on it compared to anyone there including a rollercoaster that takes a full fucking like 15 minutes of riding, on her ping. IDs also play on it. If they were looking for a fresh start they ought to venture to JP for complex projects. Atlantis on the EN server WILL be a giant pain in the ass just starting with the sheer distance and then all of the fucking prismarine they'll need etc. If they had helpers in JP with its couple dozen players and various farms, they could get it built in a couple weeks tops.
