Old Fate doujinshi had rather poor art across the board. I have nothing but respect for the artists but the output speaks for itself really. I think I should elaborate a bit on the Tabata and Sudou thing and say that Ufotable art universally has this issue where in certain shots the eyes of characters are drawn too far apart and they end up looking derpy. See for example how Shirou looks in that shot of UBW episode 2 when he tells Rin he likes people like her. Sudou's Rin looks a whole lot more uglier than Tabata's when the artist screws up and draws a bit too big of a distance between the eyes. See the image for instance - I really like it and I have coomed to it many times... but that face looks off.

Is it weird I like HF manga's Rin so far more than UBW manga's? Daisuke draws her a bit too much on the cutesy side, despite the fact I prefer Tabata's Rin to Sudou's. God, Rin's face alone in chapter 30 is responsible for whole buckets...
