As per usual Eientei was busy, unusually however; it seemed as if the maternity ward had grown larger. The hallways seemed to have grown longer and some of the rooms as well seemed grander and new ones had seemed to appear between the old ones. She’d never seen a practical example of what she knew as Kaguya Houraisan’s ability but if it was anything it’d have to be this.

It didn’t take long to find her way here, it seemed that some precautions had been taken to make the path of the lost easier to carry, strange markers lined the way and while looking around too hard might get you lost it seemed easy enough if you focused on the path. Kappa tech? Or maybe something Eirin came up with? Well, it didn’t matter she supposed, it was their business after all.

When Hana arrived at the tall wall and gate of the home and workplace of Eirin and the various youkai that served her it didn’t take long to spot movement beyond and around the walls. They were mostly uninjured women, pregnant as she learned earlier, milling about and getting some fresh air before their turn was called. Alongside the expecting mothers were the inaba nurses, they mostly clustered up in groups of pink like Sakura petals. If their matching armbands meant anything than it was indicating that each group seemed to have a special function. Though Hana couldn’t help but feel that they more resembled groups of friends chatting rather than working women.

Once Hana stepped onto the grounds the nearest group seemed to react, waving as they called out greetings. Hana was still bewildered as to why the other groups seemed to take special notice of her, Tewi slipped away last time she was here before she could ask. More confusingly was that even some of the women here for their checkups seemed to acknowledge her, even if nowhere near as friendly they at least gave small waves or ignored her pointedly.

It was all Hana could do to return the greetings, albeit with a bit of confusion as to why she needed to greet so many. Her bewilderment only continued as she entered into the lobby proper, two inaba nurses stood behind the counter, one with long messy locks of white hair and the other with fluffy brown hair. They looked bored at first till they locked eyes with her, they’re expressions brightened at once as the white haired one called out, “Hana-chan! Over here! You’re here for your appointment, right?”

Hana had no idea why youkai were greeting her with such enthusiasm and familiarity, it felt wrong. However, there wasn’t much you could gain by being rude; moreover, when you were a guest. It was just basic decency, so Hana merely locked in a plan into her heart to crack down on some weakling troublemaker later and lifter her hand to wave, “Yes and thank you, I’m supposed to see Doctor Eirin about now.”

The white and brown haired inaba, Sana and Sara, if their nametags were any indication, nearly hopped out from behind the large desk. Hana nearly recoiled as she thought they were going to try to hug her something, thankfully they stopped just short of her, although they did lean in a little too close for her comfort.

Hana kept up a polite smile as the two girls leaned in a little too close, one on each side of her as they started to whisper conspiratorially. The brown-haired girl, Sara, started first, “Miko-chan Miko-chan get this, I hear Kaguya-sama is going to help at your session!”

Sana whispered next, “Its big, super big! Kaguya only comes down to help with real big cases! Hana-chan isn’t troubled right? You can totally talk to us if you are!”

More than a little put off Hana shook her head as she raised a hand and waved it slightly, “No, It’s nothing like that, Its just that Eirin is going to help me see if I have any ability she can draw out…”

The two rabbits nodded while looking up at her, wait. Why was Hana whispering too? Before she could decide to do anything the two rabbits looked at each other, nodded, then looked up to Hana, “If its no problem” “if Hana is gonna see the princess!” the two spoke in unison, “We’ll have to fix up your looks!”

Hana didn’t have time to be insulted, she was going to refuse out of hand before her polite attitude vanished but the two girls grabbed her hands. They pulled her forward making Hana follow along, Hana could only ask, “Hey, where are you taking me?!” as they dragged her along. Sana shouted out to a nearby rabbit to cover for them for a mochi cake later as they pulled her to the employee areas.

Sana and Sara were intent on dragging her along with only the explanation that they ‘couldn’t let Hana/miko-chan see the princess without freshening up’. Hana was annoyed at this, youkai acting so familiar, touching her on top of that, insulting her… Still, she didn’t think fighting was wise in a location such as this, so once again she swallowed her disgust and irritations and allowed them to pull her into a powder room.

Well, at least she’d have a chance to fix her windswept hair…
