While improvement is nice, sometimes it hurts to know how bad you actually were. Especially if you thought you weren't that bad. It's really embarrassing and shameful and you just want to cover it up and pretend it never happened. As you become more and more skilled, it becomes glaringly obvious that you were doing those things you've now learned to do right so horribly wrong. It becomes the focus of the picture. "If only I could just change that thing." But you can't, it's already done and been put out and spread around the internet.

Everyone takes things differently, so it isn't always balanced out.
