Writing is definitely a skill you can acquire, you should do a bit of self reflection and try to understand what do you need to improve on the most. If you don't even have an idea of what you'd actually need to write a story then I suggest you start reading books on how to properly write and then start improving from there, The Anatomy of Story by John Truby can be a good starting point.
