Was she really that childish in the anime? All i can remember was the squirrel scene in the bath, and hey, everybody does childish/silly stuff from time to time, even real soldiers, see pic.
Other than that she was shown as a somewhat strict acting secretary ship, but also sometimes showed a softer side (like not punishing Fubuki / Yamato a second time for disobeying orders not to leave base). The one to make jokes was Mutsu.
