the top boys make solid enough money(more than ID) and are actually in Japan and thus would have the most use out of it. Foreign branches don't have that luxury.

This is a blatant lie. The CNs had better viewership and sub counts compared to most chinese vtubers and made solid money(Echo and Doris were literally top 20 of the year with the only holos beating them being Aqua and Suisei). People only believe this because they heard Artia lie to her audience by saying she'd be fired for not making enough money(because no shit she can't fucking say "we're getting fired because our chink fans are losing their minds and want hololive to be illegal in china") and YAGOO saying "our foreign branches aren't profitable" for the same reason Artia said it. Both basically lied to everyone with easily disprovable points because if they said the real reason, it'd just make everyone angry.
