With Bongbong there's a number of factors in why he's been successful
a) He's managed to spread disinformation about his family's legacy through social media via spambots. Social media, especially Facebook is where most Filipinos get their news, they may not have eletricity, but most will have a mobile phone that uses Facebook. He's been so successful with it amongst young people they legitimately believe what happened in the 70's is fake U.S. propaganda
b) Amongst the boomer population a lot felt it was more peaceful under Marcos Sr. This was because they were under martial law at the time, meaning the country could not be overrun by drugs like they are now without being publically shot on the street. They believe a vote for Bongbong will return that peace they had in the 70's.

Of course anyone who is not a Flip will tell you exactly where a Bongbong presidency will go. Full forgiveness of his father's and mother's crimes, and an instant stop on the commission in trying to get back all the money they stole when they were extradited to the US.
