My issue with LURK is that it wasn't anything more than an overglorified weapons mod. They didn't add anything new, and neither did they fix the broken Alife, the wonky stashes, trading and quests or spawning. They didn't add the AI fixes, it had shitty, static weather and it was far too easy to boot.

I spent like a week going through the files, fixing the stupid shit and adding things to make the playthrough worthwhile; And it became a Frankenstein's monster of my own modifications, LURK and several other mods. But even then I couldn't add things that were far too deeply integrated, like the excellent AMK Alife, and the new levels I added didn't fit in well with the overall structure.

All Holden did was add a bunch of imbalanced weapons to Vanilla STALKER and disguise it with graphics mods (Which always should be optional for us users.). There were barely any difference between the guns anyway and they were perfectly adjusted for real life shooting from 500 meters away. STALKER levels aren't that big, so I could snipe NPC's with my low-grade P38 from the other side of the map, and I always had the upper hand since they're only programmed to react from a certain distance. So before they returned fire they were all dead from my simple 9x19mm rounds. There were no point in upgrading your outfit, so I just ran around with an AKMS because I liked the colour of it, yet I had like 150.000 rubles.

I'm angry over the praise it received from /v/, and sometimes I consider myself a better "modder" than Holden, because my horrible compilation mod creations were far better than his trite.
