The latter for me. I also always hate explaining what visual novels are to people. The only games I've dared to play are Umineko and Ever17.

After participating in a local Touhou tournament, you win a trip to Japan for a week. All expenses (food, train, etc) are paid, and you are given 100000円 in spending money.

There are two times that you can take this trip, with certain restrictions.

A. Right now. You arrive in Tokyo, and everything is available to you, including everyone's favorite electric district, Akihabara. You stay in a cheap 6-tatami hotel room and have to use the public baths (assuming you can get in with your foreign status)
B. August of this year, allowing you go to Comic Market 76, and be first in line for all three days. However, both Shibuya and Akihabara are off limits. You stay in a fancy Japanese inn with its own set of hot springs.
