Kisami pulled her funny monocular thing off and looked back up at me. "Why'd she give it to you? It seems like the sort of thing you'd want to take care of." I tilted my head slightly. "Yams was very clear about your propensity for injury." I felt like I should be offended, but at the same time, she wasn't exactly wrong. I was then forced to admit that Wakasagihime had given me some strange parting words, as well as making me promise to invite her to something which she hadn't explained. "Something - Ah. I see." Kisami smiled widely. "She must be very good at reading people." I still didn't really get it. "No, that's fine. I get it. So - Here's the question."

She raised the stone so that it caught the light again. "This could be the stone. You could use it for the engagement ring. It'll be something similar to the one I showed you, A band of gold, with the ring set in a bezel on top. Do you want to make an engagement ring out of this?" I was somewhat hesitant, mostly because I was worried that Wakasagihime would be upset if I used it for something like that. Plus, wasn't it too big? "Yeah...We'd need a small piece, probably smaller than your little fingernail. Big, gaudy pieces just look like you're trying too hard, rather than being elegant or even exceptionally pretty. But - and I'm fairly certain that I'm right about this - It's what the mermaid who gave it to you intended for you to do with it." I wondered how she'd known. Maybe she was clairvoyant?

Still, I was hesitant, though I was aware that it was probably for frivolous reasons. How did she know that the ring would fit Yamame? What if it was too big and just fell straight off? "Oh, that's not a problem. I can resize it, but even then, I definitely know my own little sister well enough to have the right idea anyway." And here, after a few moments of Kisami being rather serious, she reverted back to normal. "I mean, I could probably tell you her measurements from walking in on-" I shouted Kisami’s name again, but just like before, I’d said ‘Ki’ without thinking. "You did it again!" She cried, clapping her hands together with a wide smile. I scowled and took on a very serious frown. Clearly, Yamame and I needed to find a way to get her back, soon. Not by frightening her, though. That would be mean.

At least she hadn't gone for the hugs this time. Perhaps the key to Ki was to keep a solid object between her and whoever she was liable to assault with hugs. "The wedding ring is a separate question, but Yams might want some input on that. She'll love this, though. Trust me. So...Back to the question. Should we make the ring out of this?" She asked me, her voice turning serious once more as she raised the stone again. I stopped for a moment. I thought about Wakasagihime's words. Her request to be invited. The way she'd looked between Yamame and I, and how she'd said that she had an eye for something but wouldn't explain what. I think she'd seen it before I had. In fact, she probably wasn't the only one.

So, I looked back up at Kisami and said yes.
