I consider Rance III to be one of the best RPGs of the 90s, no question.
The entire ending section where you return to Leazus and everything and everyone from Rance I is there waiting for you and you discover just how much your long journey to save Leazus really meant and then you have two epic back-to-back final boss fights against unstoppable odds and every character from the entire game shows up to fight alongside you followed by that really emotional, but also really funny ending is peak Rance IMO. Just flat out one of my favorite moments in any RPG. It left such a huge impression on me that I still remember the dinner I ate the night I played the ending (spaghetti and meatballs).
It's not a perfect game by any means but I think it totally holds up.
