真田紐　「さなだひも」
(thick, flat woven,) colorful patterned ribbon / (patterned) woven ribbon (made from cotton)
(allegedly named after general sanada masayuki (1547-1611), who is said to have used such ribbons for wrapping his sword hilts). sometimes just 真田 for short, to refer to items crafted in a similar fashion, e.g.

真田編み
真田織り
麦稈真田
経木真田

also 真田虫, common name for 条虫 aka tapeworms... because they kinda look like the ribbons... minus the color - gross
