I'm not the guy you're responding to, but that's how cosplayers think and it's delusional.

Cosplaying, otaku group dancing, or any of this weird stuff is not enjoyable for other people. They're either creeped out or annoyed by it. People don't even like mimes and they actually have some small degree of talent.

The only exceptions to this are sometimes very talented musicians or dancers, but very talented is the key part here. I live in an area where there are a shitload of performers all over the place, there's lots of those types since I'm near an art college, and the vast majority of the time the only people who are having fun here are the people performing. My neighbors are always talking about how annoying it is, my family talks about it, basically everyone who lives in this area that I have met has mentioned how fucking annoying it is to see and hear bad performers "expressing themselves" while we're trying to just quietly go about our day.

This is the general rule: If you aren't talented enough to have some youtube video with millions of hits and tons of fame then nobody wants to see or hear you in the street.

Cosplayers and other otaku do not even fall any where near this. There's currently a hippie outside of my apartment right now who is playing his guitar, he only seems to know how to play four chords and he is doing it over and over again. I would rather keep him than hear the painfully annoying giggling of cosplayers or a bunch of otaku trying to sing along to a song while dancing.
