I really like Vocaloid. I like that it gives a voice to producers who can't or aren't confident enough to sing. I love the collaborative community it has spawned; one guy makes a cool song, another remixes it to make it even better, then somebody else creates this fantastic video to accompany it. Anything that encourages creativity and collaboration is awesome in my book.

That being said, the fans can get annoying but they're easy to ignore. I can see why some find the voices irritating, but for people like me who grew up listening to early techno (simple, high-energy tunes with sped up vocals and robotic effects) it's very pleasing to the ears.

The only downside to me is that it can be difficult to find the good songs in a sea of mediocrity, although that could be said for pretty much any indie music these days.
