Come to think of it, I remember an anon making this exact same argument here some time back. I can't remember how many new cards/day he was doing (I feel like it was around 35), but his retention was something like 65%, and he was arguing that 65% of what he was doing equated to more information remembered in total than what other people in the thread were doing. Not many people seemed willing to listen though.
