After hanging out with Mokou for a while, you ended up getting quite close to her and against all odds, even managed to spark a romantic relationship with her. Your presence served to remind her of an aspect of the human experience that she had forgotten about for a very long time and she seemed happy to have that again. This feeling became precious to her but she was not emotionally prepared to handle it, which caused her to become overprotective of you. Mokou lashed out at anyone she perceived as trying to take you from her which was a problem at times. Kaguya was aware of this and used this to push Mokou's buttons for fun sometimes, leading to many heated fights between them.

Despite the bumps in the relationship, you both loved each other and your days together were filled with joy. There was a shadow hanging over that happiness, however. That was the shadow of Mokou's immortality. You knew as well as she did that one day you were going to die but you underestimated just how much more aware than you she was of this. For you, this would have simply been a happy life lived with someone that you loved but for her, it was going to be an unbearably heavy weight that she was going to have to carry for the rest of time.

On a beautiful moonlit night, you decided to make it official. You presented Mokou with a ring and asked her to marry you. Her expression was initially that of surprise but that quickly turned into joy. Despite the smile on her face, she did not say anything. She tried to hold it back but a single tear rolled down her cheek. That single tear was soon joined by several more as she managed to choke out a "Why?" You were afraid she was about to refuse but she continued on, trembling as she spoke through her tears. Mokou went on to explain the depths of her love for you, going into detail about her life and how angry and alone she was for a majority of it, and of the countless losses she experienced over that time. She didn't know if she could take another loss. Not one as big as you.

Mokou took a few steps away from you and began unbuttoning her shirt. Just when you were about to ask her what she was doing, she began tearing her own body open with her bare hands. You yell at her to stop and attempt to stop her but she kicks you away and continues tearing at her flesh. You watched on in horror as Mokou grit her teeth through the pain and painted the surrounding area with her blood in a mad rush to dig into herself. Eventually, she gripped onto something within herself and tore it out. After a short coughing fit of blood, Mokou held out what she had dug out of herself towards you. It was her liver. Her body was already beginning to regenerate as she gave you her reply. She will accept your ring if you accept eternity.

You couldn't possibly know what eternity had in store but you knew you didn't want Mokou to have to face it alone any more than you wanted to live the rest of your own life without her. You step towards her and take one of her bloodied hands. With no regard for the blood, you slip your ring onto her finger and tell her that you accept. Now it was your turn. You take the organ from Mokou and consume it. Your determination to see this through gave you the strength to keep down.

Just like that, you were now married. There was no need for a ceremony or guests. Having each other as witnesses was more than sufficient. You share a kiss with your new wife and consummate the marriage then and there.
