Just because of the red ribbons and red threads tied in knots by her neck being something you'd see in Chinese fashion, that was overkill. Chinese did not fucking invent that fashion, or maybe they did but they sure as hell don't have copyright on it. Once you start squeezing you probably can find Chinese elements in other costumes too.
I never got Chinese image from Flare's OG look.
All I ever saw was classical cliche fantasy elf with a bow and some clothes to go with being an agile forest elf.
