The official site has short after stories you can read which are fully voiced in the vita port if you know Japanese. That game has left me in despair after that reveal from the last route. Ain't interested in going through the other stuff.

I get the feeling it's to drag you(the reader) into the same despair, and frustration he felt since he never moved on from the loss of his friends. In the last route he mentioned that he dislikes reading because it's the same as looking at another person's thoughts. He's been coping by remaking his friends, and those other side characters in his head, or maybe in his stories countless times just like in a video game where you keep redoing stuff just to make it to a golden ending.
