Who else could've given Toujirou the password to Miyao/Meow's gauntlet, which he used to kill Lingji? Meow is in on it. Sure, he could've just hacked Miyao's gauntlet from outside the matrix, if they are even in one. But the novel points out that passwords are incredibly complex and almost impossible to brute force. When the drones attack the cities, they mention that this must have been done by an insider that knew the password to control the drones. It couldn't have been a hacker. And they bring this up again in the scene where Miyao gets the passwords from an enemy kette and controls their gauntlets himself to shoot down his own missiles. Why else would they introduce this stuff if it isn't to point out that Meow gave Toujirou free access to the gauntlet?

I bet Toujirou also arranged for the golden gauntlet thing with his COU contacts and made it so Keropoyo ran a diagnostic or update right at that moment, to disable her shield.

I also think Phase 2 will end with Miyao and Jayden going meta within the matrix and becoming Blueyao/Bluejayden. Blueyao is probably in contact with Meow too, we just never see her point of view.

The world itself will reset because they are all fucked by the end of phase 1. The surviving gauntlets will be questioned about Miyao's order and stripped of their power as soon as they come back from the conflict. Once that happens, it's game over. The young lost all agency and the world is in the boomers' hands, heading towards destruction. I think the victory condition is using their power to prevent the end of the world. Phase 1 had a bad ending because they lost their chance to strike back.
