>Only studio logo: DVD
not sure, don't really saw that standalone but part of ippa-watermark.
otoh i don't really watch DVDs, only HD.
can one just replace Blu-ray with DVD in your explanations?

> (now replaced with IPPA watermark on both digital and physical released)
when did "now" start?
allegedly dmm enforced their newer offline player this year - not sure if related.

>but that how things work on western piracy scene. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/04/27/the-man-who-broke-the-music-business
but that's music.
the few times that happened to hollywood movies there was some serious crackdown. now blu-rays are like 2 weeks before official release if you are lucky due to distribution leaks.

one of the biggest Chinese groups - thz.la - is clearly mostly capturing dmm downloads/streams.

>And that would explain why you don't see SD rips from smaller studios since their DVDs are pressed in Japan
does it even make sense to actually press them instead of just burning for small batches?

>Thz.la seems to use downloaded WMV here
but those usually look like dasd-410, see https://yuki.la/jp/18761038#p18767476 or like hjd2048.
hjd2048 blur is not big enough to hide an ippa-watermark. mabye D-watermark.

>IPPA watermark seems to apply to every studio, so you can't escape these.
every studio? are you saying newer BOKD will have ippa-watermark now?

bonus:
where's that dasd-404 release from pic from?
going by watermarks it's web stream, but quality is too high for screen capture. so must be ripped stream, but i thought that method died like a year ago or so.
