Even if that's true, mere adoption does not turn someone into Suwako's direct descendant. Her power is inherited from Suwako. She is a half-deity BECAUSE of her being Suwako's descendant.

In JAPAN, you don't have to be a virgin to be a miko. There are also miko in Japan who offered sexual services. In modern Japan, this is even more true, since being a miko is just another one of those jobs that you don't do all the time.
