>ターンＡガンダム
>一見シド・ミードのレンダリングかと思われるターンＡ。ちゃんと足元
に二人の人物のシルエットが描かれているところまで、凝った（遊んだ？）
イラストになっている。ターンＡにガンダムを見いだせなかった人（私も
含めて）への解答ともいえるようなデフォルメーションが施されている。
その平板なミードガンダムに対してカトキガンダムでは前に突き出し、脚部
には初代の革新的デザインポイントであった「ふくらはぎ」が追加されて
いる。肩ブロックもエッジをはっきりさせた矩形になっている。頭部の形
状などはバンダイのガンプラ設計部で元ストリームベースの川口氏が試作し
たガンダムヘッドに近いものになっている。これは我々のガンダム像とい
うのがかなりの割合で共有されているという事を示すものではないだろう
か。また、そこまでイメージが固まってしまったガンダム像を破壊するため
にシド・ミードが必要だったのではないだろうか。
これは、カトキ版ターンＡというよりも、上（表カバー裏）のＲＸ－７８－
２ガンダムＶｅｒ．Ｋａ’１９９９の為の習作と捉えた方が適切であるよ
うな気がする。裏カバー裏という位置にあるのも、そんな意味であるのか
もしれない。従って、正式な最新ガンダムはやはりフルアーマー・ガンダム
になるのだろう。これもモノクロのイラスト。
