I like listening to every holo sing because karaoke are always enjoyable. It's about the fun they have while singing, not the objective quality of their singing skills.

NEW GURA NARRATIVE!
Gura isn't actually Filipino or Filipino-American. She only adopted an ambiguously ESL-esque stage accent to help reinforce the character lore that 'Gawr Gura' is a literal fish out of water who recently emigrated to land. Her accent is likely based on multiple, but may have been partially inspired by the typical Filipino accent. The United States has a large population of Filipino immigrants, meaning a lot of Americans are already familiar with it thanks to exposure. Their accents are instantly recognisable as a "foreign", so a hint of Flip helps to push that idea. She could have had a few Filipino friends or classmates to learn from. Compared to many other accents that might sound foreign-sounding to your average White American, it takes very little time, research, or training to convincingly mimic a Filipino accent. Filipinos are generally happy to see their people, language, and culture represented in any capacity, so they are very unlikely to interpret Gura's accent as racist. It doesn't have to be anywhere near perfect to avoid offending them. This makes the Filipino accent a very safe option. Essentially, basing her ESL accent at least partially on Filipinos' accent 1) instantly imparts that she is 'foreign' in some capacity 2) is very easy to do 3) is unlikely to raise any controversy that'll reflect badly on Cover Corp. There is nothing more to it.
