AKB48 fired one girl, Kikuchi Ayaka, for having a boyfriend. She came back and auditioned again soon after that and was let back in. She's back with her agency, recently joined Team K, and is Watarirouka Hashiritai's newest member. Her fans still support her and she is pretty popular.

So no, it's not the same at all. Say what you will about AKB48, but you have to admit that they treat their members with far more respect than UFA.
