Yeah exactly my point, he's not really a blank slate and I don't agree with the sentiment of VNs being "meant be self-inserted into", unless we're talking about certain dating sims and moege with actual nameable board protagonists. I don't really get the point of trying to self-insert into established characters with pronounced personalities nor do I see a change in PoV as a negative narrative technique.
