I'd say I agree with the first guy who brought up about the Demon Lord's Husband. He'd likely be some moralfaggish boyscout with a legitmately good heart, kind soul, merciful and compassionate nature supported by the fact that he was a hero of the Order. And maybe he had doubts of Order's current stance and policies on monster and non-humans and that he wishes for everyone to live peacefully and in harmony. In which his dreams of such peace and co-existence came true in the form of the current Demon Lord being a succubus who's found of humanity and other mortal beings and turns other monsters into cute girls. So the moment he was sent to slay the current Demon Lord he instead laid with her.

Because by seemingly sheer fate both the current Demon Lord and her Husband shared the same dreams and vision of a peaceful utopia where everyone loves each other and no more fighting and war. Thus they fell in love, married, fought off the Chief Goddess who decided slay the Demon Lord and traitor-hero herself and continue to make love to gain more magical energy bullshit to make the Demon Lord's plan become a reality.

Also it is said that both the Demon Lord and her Husband are skilled "Gem Makers." Which I guess means they're both skilled jewlers and artisans themselves.
