Can Principles be acquired by non-vampires/DA? The only case seems to be Arcueid... but she's essentially the Crimson Moon and a TA which is intrinsically tied to DA so... it's ambiguous?
Can there be new Ancestors(Besides the 27)?
Doesn't really seem that way given how they are described I think. A stain left behind by the crimson moon, the old Dead Apostles who broke away from their role as emergency rations. Combined with how Arc talks about the nature of their blood, their crown, this imo makes it seem like the title of Ancestor is special and probably an inheritance from 27 individuals. Maybe they all existed during the time CM walked the earth? Perhaps the oldest 27 like in OG? Though seats have been vacated and filled over thousands of years. You'd think there would be more than 27 and not so much reason for there to be successors if any DA could somehow become a DAA through their own development.
Mario says a principle is a DA's curse and thesis. This innate ability is a skill they originally obtained as a human and then continued to study after they became a DA until it became a Principle. Principles cannot be inherited and are lost upon the users death according to Roa. They are also one of a kind. The confusion comes from Mario saying "They call it Hemonomic Principle... Idea Blood." when he appears to be talking about Principles in a general way?
Arc mentions the same "Hemonomic Principle... Idea Blood" when discussing how Idea Blood is similar to a crown and that it isn't related to how long you've lived but rather the nature of the blood. If you inherit it, regardless of your current rank as a DA, you become a DAA.
Roa wants to find a way to inherit the curses(Principles) of the DA. Especially those of the DAA. That would be the research he conducts in his XV Reincarnation.
If you take IB=Principles as the same thing then you're saying that IB couldn't be inherited until after Roa's research.
That doesn't seem plausible when you have Zelretch replacing the 3rd DAA he killed over a millennium prior to Roa's research and all the DAA having Successors who are primed to inherit the position of Ancestor. You're supposed to have at least a 1000 year foundation to operate Idea Blood as a DA.
So it seems that Idea Blood was always inheritable. It's the unique ability of the vampire that was not. Its Principle. This is what Roa wished to detune and make his own. Ciel seems to be the fruit of this research as she is making use of the DAA's Principles... through their Idea Blood... which is a principle of sorts? See the confusion?
Arach's Idea Replica may also have taken inspiration from Roa's research since she was able to pass along a weaker version of Rita's Mystic Eyes and Paranodhalia stuff.
Ciel uses the last vestiges of Vlov's curse... his Idea Blood to replenish herself in her fight against Arcueid. Idea Blood here is described as a manifestation of power. We know curses refer to their principles too though. So It's confusing, right? Especially because she mentions Vlov's Principle hasn't matured in the very next line. But maybe it's not so confusing if you think of Idea Blood as some kind of Principle but different from the vampires innate Principle? If we assume that Ciel is somehow stealing the Principle along with the Idea Blood then Vlov's Principle not being fully matured makes sense... since Shiki killed it and there are only vestiges left with the Idea Blood? DA are also supposed to have a 1000 year foundation to operate Idea Blood and since he's only like 400 years old maybe that's also playing a part? I guess the real question regarding Vlov's Idea Blood and Principle is what exactly is the relation to Zaria's Principle? Vlov's Principle is explicitly 寒さ. What was Zaria's? People assume it was 寒さ but that doesn't really fit? Though for some reason Arc recognized Zaria from when Vlov started talking about what blood meant to him. Could it be because she simply remembered that there was an Ancestor who had no successors(Explaining why this rank VI could have obtained the Idea Blood?) and not that she recognized the Ice abilities which shouldn't be something Zaria could do?
Nasu is a fag who had to name the two so closely that it's perfectly reasonable to just use principle when talking about Idea Blood even in story so you only really can guess which they mean by context.
Currently I'm thinking that the Idea Blood are 27 specific principles left behind by the CM but that they don't grant any specific power and what they actually do is juice the vampires innate principle. So if the vampire has a strong enough foundation they can operate the IB which basically turns their principle into a super curse. Those who have IB: DAA, Noel(Replica)
Those who have Principles: Roa, DAA, Arcueid. Noel has her own Bells Principle but her eyes are Ritas 原理血戒
