Anon buddhism is literally not the same kind of religion as christian. For one they don't force you to lick Buddha's toes and condemn absolutely everyone who doesn't to hell.
It only tells you a way to reach true happiness and if you fail to do so, well you'd get exactly what you worked for. Unlike abrahamic religion it isn't designed to control the populace through strict rules and scare tactics that would cross the line into dictatorship.
