I don't have big dreams.

Just simple ones. Basic ones. The ones that every guy on the street would have. A career. A family. A good life.

But every now and then, something bigger comes by. A new car. A new house. A new electronic trinket. Could be anything. But once it's here, once it's available, there's an immediate desire for it.

And on this day, she was it.

I don't think she saw me, looking off and away, towards the water below. But I certainly saw her.

I guess what caught my eye first was her hair. A brilliant sky blue. Unusual and clearly artificial, but its job was to garner attention, and my full attention it had.

She appeared to be wearing some sort of maid's outfit, though I couldn't place where it was from. The white frills did contrast nicely against the dark body, though.

I debated in my head over what to do. There was still something odd about her that I couldn't quite place at the time. Perhaps her head seemed a few sizes too big, but I couldn't come up with an adequate reason why that would be so.

At least, until she began to turn.
