I like to think that all monster girls have their own unique scents and smells. It adds to the exoticness. Demonic energy keeping them smelling bad at all seems kinda cheap. In the case of sandworms, I like the idea of them smelling a bit bad to the average person or MG that happens across one. But for the guys that have married one, as that sandworm mana gets ingrained into their bodies, that bad smell turns into a good one, only to him. It'd make for a good self-defense mechanism.
