Allow me to present you with a possible timeline.
>August/September 2017 - Yui begins fattening up.
>December 2017 - Thicker Yui misses a show feeling “sick.”
>Early 2018 - Mikio “falls” from observation platform.
>Currently - Yui’s whereabouts totally unknown and presumably being kept that way intentionally by management staff.

What does this possibly spell out?
In summer 2017 Yui and Mikio have a secret sexual affair.
Yui begins to put on weight as usual for a skinny girl who is showing early signs of pregnancy.
Begins to get increasingly sick without knowledge of the reasons, Yui herself possibly hiding the signs from family and agency as long a she can. Naturally, signs of pregnancy become obvious after about 4-5 months and the cat is out of the bag. Shit goes haywire. The idea of an idol girl being found knocked up by a band member would be a huge scandal. Yui is announced “sick” in December without details.

Mikio, horrified and regretting what has happened, commits suicide by jumping off an observation platform.

Yui, now traumatized, is either about to have or has already had a baby, or aborted said child but is to mentally scarred to continue performing. All of which for the Japanese sake of “pride and avoiding shame” must be covered up at the expressed concern of the Mizuno family and Amuse.

Just an idea. Of course I hope it’s not true at all.
