Giant eye would only be okay if you are actually Satori. Eyes are so often in backgrounds of rpg horror games it became a silly thing.
It might be more work, but the unsettling nature should be more noticable through the other characters reaction.

Unless the MC stares like Bela Lugosi, then go for it.
