I don't like being wasteful
I don't buy shoes until I have holes in both the soles
I don't buy new clothes until they're unsightly with holes and worn thin, then I go to the thrift store and buy 'new' ones
When I was homeless on hard times I didn't go to my family for help for weeks until the forced me to live with them
I didn't get a new heater for two winters after it broke despite having more then enough resources to get a new one
My last bike I owned I used it despite it having no brakes until the wheel failed entirely
When I worked at food places I avoided getting new nonslips despite the manifest danger of working around large hot things until they were worn smooth
