Guys.
I was thinking and just realized. There's no end to Abukuma's OP-ness. She's by far the best choice even for 5-3.
Just think about it. When you choose light comp (5DD1CL), you want the CL to kill the sub. Normally you would go with Jintsuu or Sendai as your strongest CLs but here's the other option. Abukuma can perform opening ASW attack with merely two equips at realistic level. With this mechanic it doesn't even matter if she has short range. What's more, she can use the Night Scout, unlike Isuzu or CLTs. Because of how useful she is (and high Kai Ni level), she's bound to have high chance of activating the plane on yasen nodes and as long as she's leveled a bit (certainly possible with how useful she is) she can also reliably kill the sub before the boss battle even starts. Sure, Naka and Sakawa have a bit higher ASW and can also carry the Night Scout but Abukuma is far more likely to reach the necessary level before them. Abukuma also has slightly more evasion and better HP number which both help out in surviving yasen nodes.
