They pulled out of China. No one streams on Bilibili anymore. Hololive CN is dead, and the girls are dying with it. Their business ties in the CN market are gone and severed.
Do you think it wasn't for their protection? To take the heat off while they slowly got their affairs in order? Because that's what happened. They got Coco and Chammers off the hot plate, ended business in China, and pulled everything out while bringing the girls back in.
Or did you want it to be an explosive, middle finger exit? One that would result in even more hatred, and most likely put them on the radar of the ultraradical, kill for my country type bugs? Because that's all the other method would've done differently.
