the way this visual effect works is by alternating between left and right eye view:

should be trivial to implement.
basically you use:
https://github.com/dfaker/VR-reversal
and spam "t" to switch between left and right eye view. or change the script directly.

looks rather jumpy tho.
and most framing isn't aiming for pop-out effects.
