Well, it depends on what you mean by anime music. If you just mean OP and ED, then yes, they do listen to some. The OP and ED are basically advertisements for album releases and corporations like Sony sponsor the show for that reason. Take the Bleach OP/EDs for example. They're all pretty damn mainstream. Though if you take something like Lucky Star, the albums may do well on the Oricon charts due to fan support, but, in general, it isn't very well known.
