Just roll with it. Though you're correct that I would've benefited in having the vampire react in some manner like "You mean that fire wasn't an accident?", since nobody would've actually believed the Order was raiding a demon realm that effectively. More out of shock rather than proper reasoning.

They viewed Victoria for who she was rather than what she was. Perhaps there should've been more indication as to how the rats go since it's more their specific behavior at that point that wasn't expanded upon, but Victoria was pretty much a wimp while the rats were in a rough situation when it came to living conditions, so at that point it was the rats bullying her just to see if she had what it took for them to lend her so many horses and instructors for a real war against The Order where people and animals can die.

Do remember that I'm still just an amateur writer. I don't plan on using that as an excuse for not improving where I can, but there are still some things I don't catch until way after the chapter is put up.

The original was tough to read, and I improved enough since then that I saw I could rewrite it better. Since it had grown on me for 20 chapters, I wanted to see it written better than let it collect dust. Ideally the first chapter wouldn't scare people off compared to the original so they'd read it rather than only know Victoria through memes.

I edited segments in chapters 12 and 14 in case you stalled out long enough ago to have read the old versions. For chapter 12 it's Nyarlathotep's Flatland talk and Indrick's interaction with Victoria, and for 14 it's Indrick and Victoria's talk in the theater by the end of the chapter.

Hope it wasn't too inconvenient to wait. I added Derrota's pictures in there as well, since I felt it was relevant enough.
