What do you think of purists who play the original unvoiced, low-res, etc. releases of old VNs when newer full voice, higher-res, etc. versions are available?

Are there any such individuals ITT?

Tried this in the untranslated visual novel thread a while back, but go no responses.

Anyone want to help compile a list of VNs known to work on Linux via Wine? One of the big struggles I've been having with my learning lately is that things I want to read are simply not readable my OS, and its so tedious trial-and-erroring things only for 90% of them to not work or have serious problems.

Here's my contribution to start off:
キスと魔王と紅茶 - Appears to work flawlessly.
Starless - Appears to work flawlessly.
魔界天使ジブリール - Appears to work flawlessly.
Dracu-Riot! - Worked flawlessly for the few minutes I was able to play it before the animated backgrounds made my toaster overheat.
対魔忍ユキカゼ - Works but constant audio crackle.
魔将の贄3 - Works but constant audio crackle.
ヨメ充！ - Works but the character voices are completely fucked (entire line gets sped up and compressed into a second long clip).
