WTC in general was huge in Russia and still has decent following. Both UmiPro and console graphics patch for old Witch Hunt release were done by Russians, IIRC.

Composers were really comfortable with horror/gothic themes, so they all did magnificent work with Umineko and Higanbana, while Rose Guns Days was entirely carried by Rokugen Asuke and xaki.
Ciconia is awkward for them for now, apparently Ryukishi turned down almost all of their compositions.
