OP here, just finished Episode 4. It certainly got better, but I have to agree with >>12913144. The Ange and Sakutaro stuff was a bit dragged out. Not all of it, mind you. I was pretty interested in Ange's storyline that involved her traveling to the island. Her last chapter was way too long and came at a very bad place in the story, however. EVA-Beatrice being there felt really shoe horned in, and after all the exciting stuff that was going on in 1986, it was really frustrating being thrust back into 1998 so suddenly.

The ending was great. I loved Battler's blue truths at the end and just seeing him have such an advantage over Beato. I also absolutely ADORED Battler playing detective. That may very well have been my favorite chapter so far.

Special shout out to Krauss and Kyrie who were hands down the MVPs of this Episode for me.

And Piece Battler who was far more interesting than Meta Battler this time around which I found surprising since in Episodes 2 and 3, I didn't particularly care for Piece Battler but loved Meta Battler.

Anyways my rankings for episodes so far would go
3 > 1 > 4 > 2

3 was super entertaining from start to finish and while I wasn't super in love with Beatrice acting sympathetic towards Battler, it was an interesting change and the overall events were very exciting to read.

1 was has had the best atmosphere and mystery so far, and was hands down the one where I was the most consistently immersed. I'd rank it above 3, but it loses points for that VERY long beginning.

I think 4 had the highest highs so far, but definitely the lowest lows. But those highs were REALLY high. I wish Ange's chapters were paced better and that more time was spent with the game board. Introducing Ange and giving her a ton of back story wasn't very smart I feel. Still really entertaining.

As for 2, the first half is incredibly boring and was tedious to read, unlike E1 where I could see myself eventually warming up to the long intro, 2 had too much fluff.
