Man, I'm playing Darkest Dungeon and right now, and I keep thinking it's a perfect setting for Shoggoth.

>Rich, hedonistic distant relative in a manor on the hill
>Gets bored of regular hedonism, and delves into the occult
>Excavates ruins beneath manor, opens passage to Cthulu-land.
>You send disposable warriors into the ruined manor and what lies beneath, to purge the baddies

Wealthy manor plus eldritch gateway is obviously the perfect setup for an eldritch maid like the Shoggoth. I just wonder if sending more and more men down there to purge them before succumbing will end up helping or hurting them
