At what does LSC become interesting ?

I've reached 3-3 and 4-3 and I'm doing bretty gud, now I've got enough Kai'd and modernized light and heavy ships to form any kind of squadron.

However, I lack rare ships like Nagatos, Yamatos or Taihou.

Should I begin stockpiling ressources in order to try building something big ?
