Thanks for pointing this out for me. I assumed that since I wasn't able to use supports on turn 1 that I wasn't getting the elemental boost. That makes things a lot better.

I guess the plan with this game is to take things easy and build grids one event weapon at a time? It'll feel weird since LB3 magna grids are quite easy to build in grubble but there's no need to rush grids in this game I guess.

It's also nice to know that the only ones with a serious advantage are hyperwhales. I wonder if they will go the KMR route some day and start implementing elemental resistance so that whales can't use their same party and grid to dominate most content.
