Isn't that to be expected? From experience, I have found that the best way of receiving help is to make a strong initiative and to form strong bonds with those who are actually helpful. It's easier for people to participate if there is strong leadership and something to build from. That gives the project a direction instead of having endless arguments about things that aren't important.

The same thing happened to my game(pic related) but I don't really mind. I prefer working alone. It helps me reach my inner autism.
