I hope it continues her outfit design philosophy where she's wearing clothes that she doesn't have to push her giant bracers through. I like that her outfit is consistent with her lore in that she can't remove her arm and leg braces and so she can't wear things like pants because she wouldn't be able to fit her braces through the holes.

Kinda feel bad for Mishimama

If you look at Laplus' design doc, she was specifically given clothes that wrap around her or clothes with openings that are designed to be removed without going over her arm, leg, and neck shackles.
Stuff like her button up shirt/skirt or her large coat.
I thought that was such a cool element of her design since it would make her future outfits really unique in order to be consistant with her lore.

But now it's all fucked up if she can just remove her bracers any time she wants.

Did you know that it's heavily implied that Laplus doesn't wear panties?

Specifically, Laplus' ankle shackles are a really important part of her character. Why? Based on her design, the shackles' width, and because she can't take them off, it should be physically impossible for her to put on and wear panties or any other clothing that goes around both legs. Not only is it obvious it would it be extremely difficult for her to fit her giant, irremovable shackles through the leg holes in a pair of normal panties, take a look at her outfit. All of her visible clothes are wrapped around her in a way so that she can remove them without having to navigate her giant leg and neck shackles through them, items that she's said she cannot remove by herself. You might be thinking that side string-tie panties would work for her instead. That may be true, but If she were wearing that type of undergarment, then the string would stick out the side of her coat where the fashionable opening is and it's clear that no such string is present in her design.

This is really important. Think about it. It's not like Mio, where the eroticism comes from not knowing whether she's wearing them or not. It's not like Coco or Gura who CHOOSE not to wear panties. Laplus CAN'T wear panties, even if she really wants to. Not even if she's super embarrassed about it. This high and mighty little brat is actually helpless and can't even put on her own panties. Imagine having all your power sealed away and ending up in such a pathetic state!

The coat is meant to be her restraint, she can't take it off until she gets enough superchats to recover her power.
